There is a specific kind of tired that only a sofa piled with the right cushions can fix. Not decorative tired. Actually tired, end of the day, needing somewhere that feels properly soft and enveloping. Most cushions look fine in a shop and feel disappointing at home, either too flat, too firm, or that particular shade of beige that goes with nothing. We have been thinking carefully about what makes a cushion earn its place. Fill matters enormously. A cushion that loses its shape after two weeks is just a fabric envelope with ambitions. Texture matters too, because how something feels against your face on a Sunday afternoon is the whole point. Colour and pattern have to work with real rooms, not showroom rooms. The cushions we have pulled together here are the ones that actually deliver the cosy they promise. They photograph well but more importantly they feel exactly right when you collapse into them. That is the only test worth passing.
