Most bedrooms have a corner that is doing absolutely nothing. Not badly furnished, just unfurnished, a space that never quite got resolved. An armchair in a bedroom sounds like a luxury but it is actually one of the more useful things you can add to a room. Somewhere to sit while you put your shoes on. Somewhere to read that is not in bed. Somewhere to throw the clothes that are not dirty enough for the wash but not quite ready to go back in the wardrobe. We know that corner well.

The problem is that most armchairs are sized for living rooms and a bedroom asks different questions. Scale matters more. So does the way it looks from the bed, because that view is the one you wake up to. We have been looking for chairs that earn their floor space rather than just fill it. Compact without feeling mean, considered without being precious. These are the ones that finally answer the corner.
