A side table is one of those pieces that earns its place every single day without ever being the thing you notice. It holds the lamp that makes the corner work. It takes the book, the drink, the phone at midnight. Without the right one, a sofa floats, a bed looks unfinished, a chair becomes an island. The problem is that most side tables either look good or work well, and very few manage both. Too small and they’re almost insulting. Too large and they dominate.
